“Some people are weather wise, but most are otherwise.”

- Benjamin Franklin

With Weather Guides, we want to change that.
We want you to know what to expect . . .

All Year Long.

WHY WEATHER GUIDES?

BECAUSE OF THE NEED FOR IMPROVED WEATHER ACCURACY
Your travel and plans are important, and weather is a factor in most of them. In 2007, Kari and Brandon Hansen wrote an extensive treatment of internet weather forecasting accuracy (http://www.omninerd.com/articles/Internet_Weather_Forecast_Accuracy). Their article, replete with statistical findings and excellently presented with charts and tables, expresses skepticism with forecasts any longer than three days in advance. They further add that "while the difference between online weather forecast sites was less than . . . expected, the accuracy and consistency results support a strong dose of skepticism anytime you lookup the weather on the Internet." Weather Guides provide you with the weather and climate you can expect . . . all year long.

BECAUSE OF THE NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR ANY WEATHER POSSIBILITY
If it hasn't happened to you, you likely know of it happening to someone you know, where they visit a location only to be (in most cases) unpleasantly surprised by an unexpected turn in the weather. Kari and Brandon Hansen articulated such an experience during a summer vacation in Texas. Although many of these surprise changes in the weather can be considered anomolies, why not be prepared for the unexpected, or at least be aware of these possibilities, even if remote? Weather Guides provide you with this information . . . for the entire year.

BECAUSE OF THE NEED FOR COMPLETE LOCAL WEATHER AND CLIMATE INFORMATION
So often, we can get only part of the picture. With weather accuracy for three-day forecasts at around 70% to 85% (lower in many cases), that leaves four days of the week pretty much up in the air. To know when it's best to visit (or not visit) a locality, you need year-long information that's up-to-date, accurate, reliable, and easy to access, use and keep handy for quick reference. Weather Guides provide this information. Rather than giving a risky forecast, we see our product as providing you with "aftcasts" - you'll know what the weather possibiities are, and the probabiity of any type of weather occurring, based on recent historical records for the area.

BECAUSE THEY'RE COOL!
Along with being informative, Weather Guides are presented in a colorful, attractive format, with well-written climate/weather discussions, illustrative maps and vividly presented tables and charts. The uses are almost limitless, including preparation for travel, relocation, work-related matters such as construction planning, seeking favorable weather for recreation, or just knowing about the climate and weather at places where relatives or loved ones reside. They are meant to be used, seen and displayed, maybe even wall-mounted - they're that nice. Weather Guides will occupy a prominent place with anyone interested in or needing to know what to expect . . . all year long.
